Langate: 27, June: A senior officer of Govt. of India (GOI), Mr. Vinesh Pachnanda, is on an extended tour, to Block Langate of District Kupwara, for observing the implementation of different welfare schemes here.
Mr. Pachanda, undersecretary in the finance department of GOI and also nodal officer for Extended Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (EGSA) going on in District Kupwara, is currently touring the districts block Langate. The officer is observing the large-scale IEC activities and saturation of 7 identified ongoing flagship schemes in the said Block. The dignitary, along with his liaison officer Dr. Firdous Ahmad (BMO Sogam), and other concerned officers visited nine target villages, viz. Glura, Kultra, Puhrupath, Yunsu, Wahi Pora, Hari Pora, Marat Gam, Hangah and Lach, of Block Langate.
Mr. Pachnanda was quite happy to see the overwhelming participation of villagers in the observation and awareness campaign. The villagers were asked if they were aware of 7 flagship schemes Viz. Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna, Saubaghya Sahaji Bijli Har Ghar Yojna, Ujala Scheme, Jandhan Yojna, PM Jiwan Jyoti Bhima Yojna, PM Suraksha Bheema Yojna and Mission Indradhanush. While interacting with the villagers the officer said that the purpose of his special intervention, as GOI’s Nodal Officer, is to speed up the awareness and proper implementation of these schemes and to make them accessible to the general masses so that they can take benefit of these initiatives. The concerned line Officers of these schemes shared detailed charter of activities going on or to be undertaken in these villages under the EGSA.
The officer said that the real objectives of the EGSA is to reach out to poor rural households, promote social harmony, obtain feedback about ongoing programs, enroll in new initiatives, enhance livelihood opportunities and reiterate national priorities such as cleanliness and strengthening the administrative set up at the District & Block level for welfare of the villagers. He lauded the efforts of the District Administration for rolling out the EGSA in the respective Blocks of the district in a well planned and dignified manner. However, he emphasized on speeding up of the efforts and said that the concerned officers should leave no stone unturned to achieve 100% target, up to 15th August 2018, as far as the implementation of the said schemes is concerned. He further said that to make the Implementation of Abhiyaan bring fruits set procedures should not be compromised.
The GOI officer was quite satisfied with the public interaction camps that were mostly held in the Sub- Health Centers and Govt. schools of respective village. He said that such events were important to spread the message and required awareness widely and to reach the target people. The officer specifically noted and lauded the Medical Block Langate for a well-explained awareness campaign it has run in the whole of its jurisdiction. He said that the hospitals and the small health centers of this medical block have maintained cleanliness to a satisfactory level for which he especially lauded the efforts of Dr. Nazir Ahmad, BMO Langate. He complimented the BMO for his overall efforts and organizing public interactive sessions with the villagers which he expected to make the desired impact.
It is worth to mention that the observation tour of the nodal officer is continuing and Distt. Development Commissioner Kupwara Mr.Khalid Jahangir is personally supervising all Activities including progress made in 222 villages.
